Matilde Møller aka P(H)ONYCAT is back at Mindcast and drops with her second episode a diverse and slightly jazzy mix recording, ranging from nineties Goldies to newer gems out of the classic IDM electronica field.
The Aarhus (Denmark)-based artist is known for her devotion to sharing and promoting music and her playful and experimental approach to DJing. In her sets she is combining diverse music styles and mashing up tracks while focusing on creating a connection between the tunes and integrity in the mix. Matilde’s background as a pianist and singer has led to a profound passion for abstract melodies and quirky beats.
Mindcast.55 is an excerpt of her set, recorded on “Rituals x Mindlab” at Suicide Club Berlin (formerly Suicide Circus) in March 2019, where she played during the exhibition of HAGAR FAIBISH who also made the cover art for the mix.
“I’m a great fan of the art that Hagar makes, so I tried my best to do a mix that could complement her universe of quirky figures and floating dreamlike paintings—it became yet another pony mix of jazz and old nineties gold.”
