In May 2020, Mindwaves Music emerged from a three-year hiatus with the release of Pnyø. Curated by in-house artist Matilde Møller (P(h)onyCat), the compilation serves as a creative reboot for the label, featuring eleven exclusive and previously unreleased tracks that merge Ambient, IDM, Glitch, and Leftfield Electronica.
The album is a tribute to “Aarhus-tronica”—a melodic and playful electronic sound rooted in the Danish scene, defined by quirky beats and an underlying melancholic vibration. Møller carefully selected each track to reflect her vision, blending brand-new productions with “unpublished gold” from the artists’ archives. While the selection is diverse in tempo, Pnyø maintains a delicate, poetic, and laid-back atmosphere tailored for an immersive home-listening experience.
