Mindcast.26 || Plaster
We are very excited to unleash the November episode of the Mindcast series: a dark romantic, laid-back but powerful and eclectic journey through ambient, contemporary electronica, classics and noise, compiled and recorded by our much respected friends PLASTER.
Plaster was born in 2008 in Rome as an electronic music project, originally founded by Gianclaudio Hashem Moniri, also known as Kaeba, and Giuseppe Carlini alias Agan (who contributed a stunning mix earlier: Mindcast.19). They are mostly characterized by a dark and deep sound image. Their musical direction aims to mix ambient music with deep beats and sharp but crispy sounds, arranged so that every sound can be interpreted as a story by itself.
Plaster released their first official album, “Platforms”, in 2011 on the Ukrainian label Kvitnu, followed by strong outputs on labels such as Stroboscopic Artefacts, Touchin’ Bass, SonuoS, Crazy Language and Brainstormlab. The project, currently run by Gianclaudio Hashem Moniri, just released the brand-new album “Mainframe”, the third LP on Kvitnu, in an exclusive die-cut cardboard sleeve printed with pure silver paint and a black abrasive inner insert. It delivers Plaster’s well-known and much-respected sound: multilayered in its complexity, extremely deep, full of sophisticated harmonies and pure abstract minimalist flow.
